International Multi-Media / Video Journalist Emmy, Telly, Associated Press, & RTNDA Award Winning
Compelled to shed light on stories that might not otherwise be told, Julie often finds herself behind the camera as a Multi-Media/Video Journalist.
She's won various awards as an MMJ/VJ including two Telly Awards for her first series on Sierra Leone's recovery following its diamond-fueled war.
Julie's series "Outsourced: Silicon Valley Students in India" was later honored with the AP Award for "Best Feature Story" as well as the RTNDA Award for best "Video Journalist/Multi-Media Journalist". The RTNDA judges said her work included "unusually thorough reporting and good writing... complemented by thoughtful editing that helped tell this story, setting it apart from the other entries."
Julie also won the first-ever “Multi-Media Emmy Award” for an interactive piece she produced about Kenya’s violent 2007 elections.
She is proficient on JVC, Sony, AVID and Final Cut. This demo reel includes a montage of Julie's work overseas. To view the projects in their entirety, see the chapter links below.
